Church Resources Help Build Self-Reliance Among Florida’s Latino Community

In Orlando, Florida, the Mexican Consulate is collaborating with The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and Catholic Charities to uplift the Latino and Hispanic community, especially women.

On February 11, 2023, the consulate hosted an informational meeting about EnglishConnect. As a result, missionaries are now teaching English to help community members gain confidence and independence. Starting in March 2023, self-reliance courses focused on women's needs and supported by local Church leaders began. Plans for further collaboration with Catholic Charities and the consulate are also in motion.

In Florida, where 26% of the population is Hispanic or Latino, these efforts aim to provide valuable resources and support for a brighter future.
